The story of how Gladstone Realty began is a humbling one. We recently asked Eleni and Mackenzie to share their story. Here’s what they had to say.
Our story starts with a girl frantically looking for an apartment as she set out to get into law school and a guy who needed a roommate. They met at a Starbucks and a month later, she moved into the apartment on Gladstone Ave and they’ve lived together ever since.
Situated between Queen West, Parkdale and Liberty Village, those areas will always be nostalgic with its artistically infused culture. From spending weekends in Trinity Bellwoods to grabbing coffees at our favourite local coffee shops, we considered ourselves lucky to be surrounded by so many wholesome options and the sense of community that it built.
Fast track two and a half years later, we decided to adopt our dog Eddy in a spur of the moment series of events at Christmas. We were living in Roncesvalles and while we loved the neighbourhood, we found ourselves renting cars and getting out to the open spaces along the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges Moraine for hikes.
We knew we wanted more space for Eddy and that the amount we were spending on rent wasn’t helping us get any closer to our goal of owning a home, it was then that we decided to trade city life for open space and to work towards a lifestyle that suited our wants and needs. Helping others design their dream lifestyle is why we do what we do and, while a home is a small part of that puzzle, it’s one of the most significant. Our approach isn’t to sell our clients a home, it’s to help them design their lifestyle.
